Hawaii Broadband Acceptable Use Policy
Internet service must never be used in a manner such that failure of the service could result in injury, death, or other serious loss.
911 emergency services cannot be reliably called using internet telephone services.
Each of the following activities and items are specifically PROHIBITED on the Hawaii Broadband network,
and may result in restriction or termination of service and/or referral to legal authorities.
Gaining or attempting to gain unauthorized access to another account, host, device, server or network.
Distributing, posting, sending or collecting unsolicited messages to entities that did not expressly request such messages (spamming).
Engaging in any activity that is contrary to any law. Including, but not limited to violation of copyright laws.
Participation in the unauthorized exchange (sending, receiving or facilitation) of copyrighted materials, text, images, data, music, video, pictures and the like.
Hosting and File Serving. Because this is a wireless network, web, email, and other servers are specifically NOT allowed. If you wish to provide such services to others, please contact Hawaii Broadband for explicit permission in writing.
Any activity that has the effect of intentionally diminishing the quality of service for others.
Participation in the exchange (sending, receiving or facilitation) of offensive, threatening, or illegal materials.
Redistribution, reselling, sub-letting, and/or sharing of the service. If you wish to provide such services to others, please call Hawaii Broadband for explicit permission in writing.
Customer further agrees that Customer is responsible for their access to the network, and that Customer will take appropriate actions against entities that are in violation of the "Acceptable Use Policy" and that Customer will cooperate fully with Hawaii Broadband in actions taken to enforce this Acceptable Use Policy.
Customer shall, immediately upon discovery, or upon notice from Hawaii Broadband, promptly cause to be stopped any activity under Customer's control which violates the Acceptable Use Policy.
Hawaii Broadband reserves the right to monitor and manage use of the system and take any action deemed necessary to maintain the quality of service for all users. However, Hawaii Broadband is under no obligation to do so. Hawaii Broadband does not certify the network to be free from the prohibited activities listed herein.
Hawaii Broadband reserves the right to decline to provide services to any customer, and to terminate services to any customer for any reason, without advance notice.
Hawaii Braodband cannot be held liable
for any damages resulting from use or unsuitability of the service.
Hawaii Broadband provides services on a
best effort basis. There are no guaranteed levels of service.
Use of the service is completely at your risk.
Internet communications are inherently insecure.
You should assume that someone, somewhere is monitoring what you do on the internet.
